Silent Winners!!!

 A team witnessed Spot Fixing issues among their compatriot, have and had issues with the Cricket board, seen their captain taking a Conditional retirement, prohibited to host matches in their mother land and have seen their nation in the web of Terrorism and Corrupt Politics and yet they have performed far better and has been the silent winners.

Since the cricket season of 2010/11, The Pakistani team has been playing impressive cricket. They won several series in all the three formats of the game. It all started when they conquered their tour of New Zealand, which was followed by their unexpected performance in the ICC World Cup and since then there has been no looking back.It will not be wrong to call them “The Consistent team”, as in ODI’s they have won five series on a trot, which also included their triumph over World cup runners-up Sri Lanka, that  too by 4-1.

The decision of making Mishbah-Ul-Haq as the team skipper has been the perfect one. Under his Captaincy, the team has been showing professional approach towards the game and most important they have beaten and played competitive cricket against teams like Sri Lanka, West Indies, England and South Africa.  It is very difficult for a team to deliver such great results when three of their players  are sentenced to jail for spot fixing, or suddenly the Captain who led them  in their great World Cup run announces conditional retirement due to his problems with the board.

Former Pakistani bowler Shoiab Akhter has straight away accused the PCB for following Dictatorship in Pakistan cricket in his autobiography “Controversially Yours”,which clearly shows that the Board  have and  had several issues with the players.Players like Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez have come up and shown their talent, when the team required the most not only this the team has been playing well in the neutral and overseas venues  in U.A.E, New Zealand and Ireland.All these hard work of the Pakistani team has pushed them up to the fourth and fifth spot in the ODI’s and Test ranking of ICC respectively.Hence it’s been really incredible from the side of Pakistan team to deliver such result in tough, pressures and de-motivating conditions.
